Recycled coloured rubber mulch or bark combined with a binder (resin); mixed on site and levelled out to provide a more attractive and cheaper option to traditional granulate wet pour. This bonded rubber safety surface is suitable in lots of applications, such as residential gardens, commercial playgrounds, school playgrounds, golf courses, pathways, to go under play equipment, around trees or furniture, etc.

Ecobond is a safe, continuous, seamless rubber surface which is hard wearing and can be laid over almost any type of existing ground without the need for foundations, and coupled with the natural looking aesthetics and colour options it is uniquely positioned to work in all year round in a huge variety of applications.
This type of surface is suitable for school playgrounds, public playgrounds, residential play areas and gardens, golf courses, pathways, pathways in woodlands, to be intalled under and around play equipment, around plants and furniture, for landscape application, etc.
Ecobond is a combination of:
Rubber Bark/ Mulch; A unique process that starts with recycling solid rubber* that otherwise would go to landfill; consistent control of this process provides us with a carefully blended flat shred, which is then coloured with our unique encapsulation process that not only gives us a natural looking surface, but one that is soft and flexible, long lasting and bonds perfectly.
Resin or Binder; A specially developed PU binder that is designed to work in cooperation with the shred size, the colouring process, and the requirements of a strong, yet flexible bond. This mixture is then simply spread out with a trowel.
As this bonded shred system is self supporting it requires no digging of foundations and the lack of large or heavy equipment makes it cost effective for even small or difficult access areas. Moreover it will easily work directly onto almost any existing ground conditions including grass or soil, old tiles or wet pour, crushed aggregate or concrete; it will follow the natural sloping contours of the ground and / or absorb undulations and can even be spread directly over tree roots and around plants.
We are pleased to confirm it has been safety and performance tested in accordance with all relevant British and European standards; including EN1177 & EN7188, and is therefore acceptable for use in all types of playgrounds, as well as sensitive ground and environmental settings.
*Uses solid rubber only (no pneumatic tyres used)

Installation Guidelines
We supply the correct ratio of mulch/bark in 10 kilo bags and the resin/ binder in 25 kilo kegs to site as a single delivery package.
This system is designed to be installed without the need for specific ground preparation so it can be laid over grass, concrete or old tiles regardless of how uneven or varied it is.
Use a suitable mixer to blend - normally mixed for around 3-5 minutes or until it looks evenly wet.
Transfer the mix to the appropriate position on the floor (no need to apply primer); Spread out to desired depth using a floor trowel and use another trowel to lean on if desired. Keep tools clean by occasionally wiping with diesel.
Fit up to boards or rubber kerbstones or simply taper the edges to finish. Although it will be dependent on weather conditions you can expect it to be touch dry in about an hour and usable approximately 24 hours later.

Tips on ideal working conditions: The ground or the material should not be wet at the outset and ideally it should not be rained on during the first 24 hours after installation. The shredded aesthetics mean that any further corrections and repairs for any reason can easily be blended in.
