RECYCLED RUBBER PRODUCTS

We all want to "do our bit" to make our world a better place and we all know how important it is for the global environment and the future of us all to recycle. By using this range of products, you have helped put to good use some of our world's toughest materials to recycle.

Rubber bark, rubber mulch or rubber chippings are excellent products and a great alternative to wood chip, as it doesn't compact, rot, blow away, doesn't freeze, etc.

Consider organic bark versus rubber bark. "Buy now, don't pay later"

Ordinary bark only lasts 6-12 months. Normal bark also compacts, turns to mulch and so needs constant replacement and costs money to remove. Children will get dirty playing in it and they will bring the bark in to the house/school on the soles of their shoes.

Rubber chippings last for years, don't compact, don't rot, don't blow away, dry quickly and don't freeze.

Rubber bark and rubber chippings can provide a multi purpose, multi colour surface making outdoor learning and playground activities safer for children. All our products are tested and certified.

In general the depth for woodchip is a lot more than the rubber chippings to achieve the same critical fall height. The rubber chippings can be laid at 50mm deep offering protection of 1.1m when tested on concrete.

For the sake of the environment, no trees are sacrificed to make these products.

EASY INSTALL

No formal ground preparation is required as it can usually be laid over most existing surfaces including soil, concrete or old bark if necessary. Installation is as easy as emptying the bags into your retained area which can be created by digging into the ground and filling back up to the surrounding land level, or by bordering the area with rubber kerbstones to create a 'pit' above ground.

COVERAGE CALCULATIONS

20 kilos of product per square metre @ 50mm (2") (or more as required depending if the sub-surface is soft or hard).

CRITICAL FALL HEIGHT TESTED ON CONCRETE

LOOSE RUBBER CHIPPINGS
  Hard base
Depth CFH
50mm 1.1m
100mm 2.7m

For softer base like grass and soil the CFH improves significantly.

Recommended depth: 50mm minimum for residential applications, and 150mm for COMMERCIAL applications.

THIS SURFACE IS TESTED ON CONCRETE AS IT NEEDS TO BE TESTED ON THE WORSE CASE SCENARIO, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS PRODUCT IS USED LOOSE, WE DON'T RECOMMEND ITS USE ON CONCRETE. IT IS IDEAL TO BE USED ON SOFTER SURFACES LIKE GRASS OR SOIL.

FOR COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS, the minimum depth will be 150mm (calcuted as 100mm more than the depth you require to meet your critical fall height, this is to allow for displacement of the surface. For example, if you need 50mm deep, for commercial applications you should order 150mm deep.
